I have a passion for Broadway shows. My best friend and I make a point of seeing at least two Broadway shows a year. That's about all our budgets can afford.
Over the past five years, I've managed to see quite a few Broadway shows and musicals. I consider myself very fortunate. Getting tickets for broadway shows
for yourself or as a gift to Broadway shows is such a wonderful idea. A day trip, or weekend trip, to New York City is always exciting and worthwhile.
Whether we are only in town for the Broadway shows or decide to spend a weekend there and dish out some extra cash for hotels, we have never had a
disappointing experience. Some of the Broadways shows stand out as having been better than others, but never once have I regretted purchasing tickets for
broadway shows. My favorite musical has been Phantom of the Opera. I have seen it twice now and probably always have that as my favorite. Most of the time,
we manage to get good seats for the Broadway shows. However, when I had heard that there were some upcoming Broadway shows with some big name celebrities in them, I was anxious to get excellent seating. Somehow, having an American Express card allowed me to purchase tickets for broadway shows in advance for Three Days of Rain. That was one of the Broadway shows that was on my "must see" list. Afterall, Julia Roberts is by far my favorite actress. I managed to get two front row seats to one of the opening performances, and we were ecstatic. For four months, I looked forward to it. I was going to be inches away from Julia Roberts. Paul Rudd, from Friends, was also starring in it. I was positive that it would end up topping my list of favorite Broadway
shows.
Finally, our big day arrived. We made it into the city with plenty of time to spare and were waiting eagerly in the lobby of the theater when they opened the
doors. I was incredibly happy to be led to the very front row by the usher. I could put my feet out and kick the stage. I could stand up and reach out to
maybe touch their legs - not that I would. I was still convinced that this would be the greatest of all the Broadway shows. Once the play started, I was more
impressed by being so incredibly close to Julia Roberts and the stage than I was with the actual play. She was, in life, even more incredible than I could
have imagined. I was completely starstruck. Most of the play, she was no more than 10 feet away from me.
I can't say that Three Days of Rain tops my list of favorite Broadway shows. If I had a list of favorite Broadway shows because of the actors, it would be at
the top of that list. I definitely do not regret having seen it. I am still a huge Julia Roberts fan. Even more so.
