Lasik Eye Surgery

I was born and raise in the Dallas area, for most of my life I have worn glasses since I was a child. I am not really into contacts, so until the advent of lasik eye surgery, I figured I was destined to wear glasses and rely on my good eyes for the rest of my life. I became interested in lasik eye surgery almost as soon as it was made available, but a fear of having anything jabbing around my eyes kept me from pursuing it at first. A fear of the cost kept me from encouraging myself to pursue it.

It wasn’t until about a year ago, that I got so tired of wearing glasses that I started doing a bit of research on Dallas lasik eye surgery. I knew I was serious about it when I started leaving charts at my place at the breakfast table that compared the cost of lasik eye surgery to the cost of replacing glasses for the rest of my life. Sometimes at dinner with my family, in between my mom asking me to pass her the potatoes, I would casually mention that I had heard the cost of lasik eye surgery was going down.

Finally, I got enough courage to go to one of the Dallas lasik eye surgery offices alone and investigate whether or not I was a good candidate for a lasik eye surgery procedure. The whole eye exam only took a few minutes and I was able to watch a video of the procedure in the waiting room. I have to admit, that I was a bit squeamish about the idea, but at the same time I was so excited that I didn’t want lasik eye surgery to stand in my way. If I wanted to have my cornea peeled back, I figured that was up to me.

The day of my lasik eye surgery, my mom and I showed up at the office on time, eye drops in hand and ready to toss my glasses in the trash bin on our way out the door. The doctor informed my mom that as the family member of the patient, she could watch the whole lasik eye surgery on a monitor.

In a Dallas eye surgery room, it wasn’t until the doctor was halfway into the lasik eye surgery procedure that my mom had an awful thought and almost yelled for the doctor to stop. But she had realized that for the first in a long time of my life, I would really see the way I look first thing in the morning. Thanks to a Dallas eye surgeon.
